You may already be aware that the U.S. government is proposing revisions to the Endangered Species Act. These proposed changes are not intended to strengthen the protection of wildlife.
Of course, no law is perfect. Over the years the ESA has been tweaked numerous times and still remains the most important wildlife law ever implemented. During the 45 years since its enactment in 1973, the Endangered Species Act has played a key role in the comeback of iconic American species such as the bald eagle, American alligator, grey wolf and grizzly bear.
Now more than ever it is important for America to step up and lead the way on wildlife conservation, so I have written to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that I feel it is unwise to implement the proposed revisions to the act, which I feel reduce protection at a time when we know better.
If you are interested in writing as well, a very simple to use comment form is up on our zoo website- http://cincinnatizoo.org/protect-the-endangered-species-act/
Specifics about the proposed changes can also be found on that page.
Thank you for caring.

Please protect endangered wildlife. Once they are gone, we will never get them back. They are a valuable part of our heritage, and we owe it to our kids.
Please be the leader in protecting our wildlife. It’s for now and the future.
Please protect our amazing animals. We need them in our world.
As this is our only home planet earth. Why can’t we do a better job protecting those that are vulnerable. We have to keep the endangered acts strong and our wildlife protected
We need to do everything we can to maintain and improve protection for creatures threatened with extinction or harm. Please do not reduce the protections already in place!
Please protect our natural wildlife. God made all of these beautiful creatures and they should be protected not harmed or become extinct. Thank you.
Please protect wildlife for all future generations to enjoy.
All creatures, great and small should be cherished indefinitely. Please protect preserve and sustain our natural resources to aid in keeping wildlife abundant
We need to protect animals at risk. All animals affect our environment.
We need to continue to to preserve and protect our wildlife. In order to do so, we need to improve existing measures, not weaken them. Wildlife is essential to ecological balance. Losing even one species could have huge detrimental effects.
Protect our wildlife more!
Thank you for speaking out Cincinnati Zoo…we live in southern Texas and are outraged at the damage the government will cause to our borderlands and the animals that live in these protected lands by reversing current legislation
Please protect our wildlife. Be a protector of all creatures great and small. L
Why not address the proposed revisions and explain why they are wrong before asking people to contact the government to protest the changes.
Protect!
It is our job to continue to protect our wildlife not just for the environment but for future generations to appreciate the beauty of the natural world. This policy is greatly connected with EPA regulations that at one left the Ohio River so greatly polluted that many animals detrimental to its health had left. We must protect animals such as the Bald Eagle from greed.
We need to protect and safe what we have left kn thos earth. To help restore the balance these animals provide for their environments. Alomg with setting up for the future generations to enjoy as well.
Please don’t do this!!!! Many wildlife now are being pushed out of their natural habitat by humans that want more and bigger homes where are our precious animals suppose to go? We need to protect them for future generations to come so they can enjoy wild life in the wild like we have had the chance to do.
One day the animals will know that we love to exist on this earth along with them.Let’s protect the endangered species.
Please protect the animals they are our world
The current administration is determined to undo all the good in our country. Animals are necessary to our planet’s survival and must be protected. Support continued protection of our companion creatures and let your lawmakers understand we will not allow a few persons to decide for us to destroy our earth and the animals we must continue to protect.
