ReUse-apalooza is such a big event, it deserved to be the tip for both Day 2 and 3 of Earth Month! Celebrate sustainability at one of the best reuse centers in Cincinnati – Building Value. They are hosting their 2nd Annual ReUse-apalooza this Friday, April 8 from 7pm until 11pm. As their website describes, “This second annual event celebrates Cincinnati, community, camaraderie and environmental consciousness with an evening of eclectic entertainment, music and fun; bringing Building Value’s mission to life.” Live performances will be entertaining the crowd all night including Bollywood Dancers, Drums for Peace and Jake Speed and the Freddies. Bid on reuse creations by local designers, and even participate in “Minute to Win It”. ReUse-apalooza supports Building Value and Easter Seals Work Resource Center. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Visit their website for more details. ReUse-apalooza will take place at Building Value, 4040 Spring Grove Ave, Northside.
Founded in 2004 by the Easter Seals Work Resource Center, Building Value salvages reusable building materials headed for the landfill, and resells them. This process creates jobs, preserves architectural details, provides quality materials and helps reduce the amount of material going into the landfill. Talk about being green! Building Value and the Easter Seals Work Resource Center has contributed greatly to numerous projects at the Cincinnati Zoo. One project includes building recycling bins made out of reused material for cell phone and Zoo map collection. Another project involved deconstructing three vacant homes on the corner of Forest Ave. and Vine St. to create a beautiful green space and welcome into Avondale. Join us and Building Value for this great celebration sustainability!
